"New" Works Available!

Four Todd Crockett paintings have become available for purchase from a collector of his work! I've never seen these before so I was so excited when I saw them because it makes me feel like Todd's still at work! These represent two styles that Todd had perfected by 2002, which is when all four were created. Todd would turn on classic music, such as a favorite like Vivaldi, and then work intensely until he reached the end of a "movement" within each "opus," then move away from this isolation into a period of connection with loved ones, recharge and then re-approach the work with new energy and finish with what can look at one moment like quiet contemplation and another like a dance in front of the canvas. The owner of these works met Todd in Birmingham, AL and saw him work in his paint covered jeans that are so crusted with color, they could stand on their own!
Now you can own a Todd Crockett, or ask for one, just before this season of celebration and worship... how fitting.

"Duet Again" 24"x36" $1800  (SALE PENDING!)
A small gem of jewel toned reds and a "duet" of electric notes.

"Wild Yonder" 36"x48" $3000
A good size painting with the nebulous, free style for which Todd is best known.

"Reflection" 60"x48" $4000
A huge, blue statement piece with two flashes streaming through the center...
or one flash with it's reflection doubling it's effect.

"Resurrection" 48"x60" $4000
This is a very large statement piece with energetic strokes building to a crescendo
as one would expect would manifest such a miracle.

Glazed Print from "The Earnest Expectation of Creation Eagerly Waits" 24"x30" $850

This was the first experiment with print on canvas Todd tried from a 60"x48" painting in 2007. We talked about adding glazes to brighten the uncharacteristically dark/muddy printing results (violets are hard to replicate in print so we accented with paint glazes) and then sealed it. This was our first try... and last before Todd passed away. I hope to try again as printing methods advance, as well as my knowledge of how to replicate.

Coming to Terms

Nearly 8 months later, I'm finally able to edit the intro. to read in the past tense... though Todd will always be present with me. He was quite the life force whose impact I'm privileged to continue to learn about and hear from all of you. Thank you.

If you own, or know the whereabouts of a Todd Crockett painting, I would love to have pictures of it/them and to document who has them.

President Clinton Letter

We've had an outpouring of emails, cards and letters from people all over who realize the tremendous loss our family, friends and community have suffered with the passing of our Todd. All of them are special to us but it was a surprise to receive this particular letter last week.

It Is Done

Our Todd gave up the tremendous fight he endured for a year yesterday, November 22, 2008 at 8:17 am. His suffering is mercifully over but we will miss him so much... he leaves a big, gaping hole. We're enjoying all the stories and comments from many, many people he's touched in his 39 years. It means so much. He lives on for us through these and the legacy of his beautiful artwork and we eagerly anticipate that Day when we will see him again.

Painting at Todd's Loft

In the last couple of weeks, Todd has painted three times. Just last Friday he painted the "Wild Horse (that Wouldn't Be Broken)" I laid down some base colors of his choosing and then he worked it while wet and added detail, more colors and his magic. It's amazing how his hands still knew what to do even though they shake at rest. The last paint party on Friday, Mom and Lucas joined in. It was lots of fun. Todd had much instruction to give! Mom and Lucas' paintings are beautiful and I was not displeased with mine! It was a very special time.
